If you add the line echo wpsc_add_to_cart_button($product['id']); you should get the right button. I'll make this an option for the next release, but in the meantime you should be able to use this workaround. The only way to have the widget show up somewhere other than your sidebar would be to add another widgetised area to your theme and then add the widget there.
